Enamel Pins from the Old English Company

I’ve always had a love of Pins … Well maybe not always, but ever since my first trip to Disney World when I was 9 I’ve loved collecting pins. I remember being so excited to get my lanyard and collect different pins as I walked around the Disney parks… My collection is ever growing and I currently display all of my pins on a pinboard. I’ve even worked on projects recently where I’ve been turning my pins into prints which you can read about here.

I’ve noticed recently that pins are becoming more and more popular. You can get all sorts of pins from food, to words, to animals etc. I’ve recently been contacted by the Old English Company about their new range of enamel pins that they’re releasing. You can view the range here. I can’t get over how cute these pins are. Below are some of my favourites from their collection.

Please note these images are taken from the English Company Website and are not my own images.

I particularly love the ‘Believe in Magic’ enamel pin. Of course, with my love of Disney, I love anything magical so this one definitely stood out to me… And who doesn’t love a good pizza?!

The Old English Company are currently running a competition to win a set of Enamel Pins. The details of the competition can be found by clicking here. I’ve seen a lot of the Old English Company on my Twitter feed recently and they honestly have some of the nicest products on their website, so I’d definitely recommend entering the competition.

    Disney World 2019

Eeeeek! I’m so excited. I’ve only gone and booked myself a trip to Walt Disney World for May 2019.

For years and years, I’ve been saying that I’d love to go to Disney World for my birthday. I know that May is a good time of year to visit as the crowds are usually smaller and the weather isn’t too bad. We’ve always visited before in April, July or October and it’s always crazy busy. This is mainly because my brother is a teacher so can only go away during the school holidays.

I’ve pretty much always done Disney World with my family in the past, but next year it’ll just be myself and Shaun. I’m so excited to share my favourite place on earth with Shaun. I know it’s going to be such a magical trip and I’m honestly so grateful and excited that I’m able to do this.

    Where we’re staying

I’ve always stayed offsite in either a villa or on International Drive as it’s usually much cheaper… But thanks to the free Disney Dining plan that’s just been released I’m going to be staying onsite for the first time! We’re heading to Port Orleans Riverside and we’ve opted for a preferred room as I’ve read it’s a pretty big resort. We’re going to be on the quick service dining plan. I probably wouldn’t usually worry about a dining plan too much as I eat quite small portions … but it was free so it was a no-brainer really! I’m so excited to try lots of Disney snacks that I’ve never had before.

    The rough plan

We’ve made the decision to only do the Disney Parks. When I’ve been previous years we’ve also been to Universal/ Islands of Adventure, Kennedy Space Centre etc… I decided I wanted to just do Disney as it means the holiday doesn’t have to be so full on. I really want to be able to make the most of everything that Disney has to offer and be able to chill out a bit and take things a little slower. It’ll be nice to have an afternoon or two that we can just chill out by the pool!

Obviously, we have lots of time to plan. I’m a very organised person and I love Disney so as you can imagine I’ve already started thinking about what I want to do. I’m especially enjoying planning out where I’d like to go on my birthday!

    Booking the holiday

I just wanted to add this bit in; in case anyone else is thinking of booking a trip for a similar time next year. We’ve booked the hotel and park tickets directly through the Disney World website. Most flights aren’t available for May next year but I managed to find a really good deal with Thomas Cook. I flew with them last year to Florida and they were fab. On the return flight, we’re actually flying Premium as it was the same price as economy!!

If you have any tips for staying onsite, the quick service dining plan or any recommendations then please leave them below!

When there’s finally light at the end of the tunnel

I feel like my life has been a big spiral of craziness recently… and I finally feel like there’s light at the end of the tunnel and it’s honestly the best feeling in the world.

I just want you to all know that if you’re struggling and things seem hard they WILL get better. It might seem like you’re stuck in a black hole and you’re never going to get out of it but you will.

For the past 12-18 months, I’ve been struggling so much! I’ve been suffering horrendously with anxiety and my mental health has been all over the place. I’ve mentioned before that my job was making me really anxious and miserable but now I finally have a new job which you can read about here. Since finding out I’ve secured myself a job in a less stressful department I’ve felt like a different person. I can feel the old Charlotte coming back and it’s such a good feeling.

The number of times that I’ve sat with Shaun with tears streaming down my face and I’ve said ‘I feel like this is all my life is now and I’m never going to be happy again’.

He kept telling me I was being silly and things would eventually get better, but I felt so trapped in my black hole that I couldn’t see it for myself…. and being stuck in that place is such an awful feeling.

    What I’m looking forward to

It’s weird that I’ve gone from feeling so unhappy and upset to being on top of the world. I kind of forgot what it felt like to feel happy and content… But now I have SO much to look forward to!

    • It’s my birthday in May and Me and Shaun are heading to London to watch Aladdin on the West End
    • I’m getting a new camera for my birthday which I can use for blogging and I can’t wait for it!
    • We’re still renovating our house and we’re hoping to move in during June 😀
    • I’m jetting off to Majorca on 30th June with Shaun for a week of pure relaxation
    • I’M GOING TO DISNEY WORLD IN 2019!!! A lot of you probably know the free Disney Dining plan has been released for 2019. Me and Shaun very spontaneously decided we’re going to go May next year for my birthday 😀 We’ve booked to stay in Port Orleans Riverside and it’s going to be such a magical trip.

I guess the point of this post really is to let you all know that things will eventually get better even if you don’t think they will. Remember you are never alone, there are always people that will listen and help.

Life update! I have a new job

It’s honestly been a bit of a whirlwind the last few weeks so I thought I would give a little life update!

Yep, I finally have a new job and I feel like the biggest weight has been lifted off of my shoulders.

I’m still working for the same company that I currently work for, but I’m moving to a new department. My current job role is a Customer Service Representative … I’ve mentioned on my blog before how unhappy this role makes me and it’s also terrible for my mental health. Talking to rude people day in day out is very difficult and it reached the point that my mental health was SO bad that I knew I needed a change.

My manager has been an absolute gem through the whole process and is the one who has made all of this possible. He was the one that did all the leg work in getting me moved departments and then it was just down to me to smash the interview … Which I did 🙂

I’m actually taking a pay cut… Not a massive pay cut, but it’s still a pay cut! This is something that I had to think long and hard about but I eventually decided that my mental health and my happiness is far more important than having a little bit of extra money each month.

It’s nothing exciting, its just a Customer Service Administration role. So instead of taking phone calls day in and day out I’ll be dealing with all administration. I know it’s not going to be the most exciting job ever, but the main thing is finding a job that doesn’t negatively impact my mental health. The hours are lovely as its Monday – Friday 8am-4pm which is much nicer than the 6.30pm finishes that I currently do.

I’m so excited to have a job that I can walk away from at the end of the day and not feel stressed. As cliche as it sounds, we do only live once and we shouldn’t spend our lives doing a job that makes us unhappy and makes us anxious. What I’m also excited about is having more time to spend focusing on my blog and my crafts. Currently, when I get home from work I feel so stressed that I can’t be bothered to do anything, so it’ll be nice to come home not feeling stressed and be able to focus my energy on what I love.

I start my new role of May 8th and I’m honestly just counting down the days! 🙂

    My plans for spring

I am so happy that spring has finally arrived. I feel like I’ve been ill the whole of 2018 with the flu and colds and I’m hoping that the spring weather finally helps me to get a little better. There’s something about the springtime that makes me so happy. I always feel so hopeful for a nice long summer and there’s so much to look forward to. I thought I would share with you my plans for spring.

My birthday is on May 14th and I’m going to be turning 26. I’m actually really excited for my birthday this year as I have the day off of work! Woohooo. I’m planning on going out for lunch with Shaun and also bowling has become a bit of a tradition on birthdays so I imagine we’ll do that too. My best friends birthday is also in May so we’re also a doing a joint birthday meal with all of our friends which will be super fun.

As most of you know myself and Shaun are renovating our first home. We now actually have paint on the walls and it’s beginning to look so lovely. We’re hoping to be ready to move in by the end of May/ Beginning of June and I’m so excited. Our kitchen is being delivered at the end of April and our sofas are due to be arriving at the end of May!

The weather is looking like its improving so I’m really hoping to fit in a family BBQ during spring. My parents birthdays are also both in May and we usually do a BBQ with the family to celebrate all of our birthdays.

I feel really bittersweet about this but I need to start sorting out my bedroom and packing it up for when myself and Shaun move into our place. It honestly makes me feel quite sad as I feel like I’m packing up my childhood and moving on. But at the same time, I’m so excited to start a new chapter of my life with Shaun. I have a lot of stuff and packing up is going to be a nightmare so wish me luck haha!

What are you planning to do during the springtime this year?
