The beauty with art journaling is that it can be whatever you want it to be. Whether you like messy, neat or vintage style; there are so many places to find amazing free images to match your style.
Unsplash is a great place to find free high-quality images. This is usually a popular website with bloggers for finding free stock images to use in blog posts but there are also lots of great photos that you could use for journaling. I love finding photos of flowers on Unsplash to use in my journal.
There are so many beautiful images on this website. You can search by author, book title etc and there are thousands of illustrations to pick from. A lot of the illustrations are black and white which looks amazing in your art journal.
Flickr, in general, is a good place to look for images, but I particularly like the British Library section. One of my favourite things to look for is decorative and illustrated letters and typography. These can be used to spell out words in your art journal which adds an old school/ vintage feel to the page.
The website is a fountain of awesome images, graphics, printables etc. If you go to the image category section there’s so much to pick from such as food, flowers, sheet music, animals, mermaids and so much more.
This website has tonnes of categories to pick from. There’s everything from tags, backgrounds, collage sheets and so much more.
A quick side note – make sure you check the licensing rights for the websites above to check that you’re using the images correctly.
