20 things to do on a rainy day | For adults

It’s that time of year again. You finally reach the weekend and have a couple of days with no work and it rains all day! It’s so easy to just slob around in your PJ’s and not do anything all day because the weather is rubbish. I’ve done this many times myself. But I always feel so much better about myself if I can get to Sunday evening and say I’ve actually done something productive with my weekend.

These are some of the things that I like to do on a rainy day to keep me entertained:

    1 – Do some baking

2 – Meal prep for the week

3 – Sort out my wardrobe and get rid of all the clothes I no longer wear

    4 – Tidy the house

5 – Bulk write blog posts

6 – Take lots of photos for blog posts

    7 – Read a book

    8 – Pamper session

    9 – Go bowling

10 – Do the food shop for the week

11 – Go to the cinema

12 – Complete the ‘list’ of boring chores

    13 – Watch a film

14 – Make a scrap book with holiday photos / memories

15 – Go to a cafe for tea and cake

    16 – Play a boardgame

    17 – Go swimming

18 – Get crafty and make something

19 – Invite some friends over

20 – Find a new show on Netflix

How do you spend your rainy days?!

    September goals | 2017 | Treating myself

August, where did you go? …. I honestly feel like August didn’t happen it went that quickly.

Every month I try and come up with some goals, this gives me a sense of focus and something to achieve. I’ve been feeling pretty rubbish these last few weeks. After returning from Florida at the end of July it seems like there’s nothing to look forward to and everything has become flat.

I feel totally stuck in a rut … with this in mind I’ve decided my goals for September are going to be about me. Self care, what I need and lifting my mood.

Try and read at least 4 times a week

I love to read, but unless I’m on holiday, I rarely ever pick up a book. Over the last week, I’ve been trying to read each night before I go to bed. This helps me wind down and switch off. I’ve always been one of those people that struggles to fall asleep as I have too much on my mind. I’m hoping that reading most nights will help with my wellbeing and help me get a better nights sleep.

    Have a pamper night

I feel completely in need of a pamper night. A facemask, hot bubble bath and nail painting is always my go to. I also like to wash my hair and use my Dove hair oil and also slather moisturiser over myself. There’s nothing better than feeling fresh faced, radiant and relaxed.

Finalise my design ideas for Christmas

I love making various crafty things. This year I have all sorts of ideas of Christmas crafts that I want to make. I really need to get my head around how much time I realistically have and what I want to do in the time I have. I need to mock up ideas of Christmas cards and pick my final designs to bulk make in preparation for the festive season.

    Date night with Shaun

Life gets in the way sometimes. We go to work 5 days out of 7, we get tired and when we get home all we want to do is slump around on the sofa and not do a lot else. Myself and Shaun are terrible for this. I want to make a real effort to have date night at least twice during the month of September…. Bowling, dinner out, cinema etc…. just something along these lines. I think it’s so important to have date night every now and then, it gets you away from the regular routine and is also something to look forward to.

As you can see, these goals are very much around my wellbeing and keeping myself happy. But I think sometimes we have to be selfish and think of our own needs. There’s nothing wrong with taking some time every now and then to look after yourself.

What are your goals for September?
