Do you remember the days when you would go on holiday and take a film camera? And when you returned there was always so much excitement about getting the film developed and seeing all of those memories printed in front of you. I genuinely miss these days! Nowadays it’s all about the digital camera. I always return from my holiday and load them onto my computer and do NOTHING with them.

Disney scrapbook

I was so excited when Printiki recently contacted me about trying their printing service. Last year I went to Disney World with my family and Shaun and I still hadn’t printed any of the photos. This was the perfect opportunity for me to print out a load of photos and actually bring my memories to life.

I’ve always been creative and love to make things. After looking through Pinterest and also Printiki’s Instagram for inspiration I decided that I wanted to make a scrapbook full of my memories. It’s actually Shaun’s birthday today, so I’ve made the scrapbook to give to him as a birthday present 🙂

Disney scrapbook

I opted for the square print photo’s from Printiki and I LOVE them. I’ve always been a sucker for square photographs, they’re just so much nicer than rectangle haha. When I was in Disney World years ago I bought this scrapbook but never actually used it. It has lots of Disney print pages as well as stickers and cutouts. This has been perfect for creating my scrapbook.

If anyone else is interested in using Printiki then you can get free delivery by using this code DNUNY9SJ 😀 It’s honestly one of the easiest printing services that I’ve ever used. The delivery is super quick and the quality is fab!

I guess all I have left to say is Happy Birthday Shaun! Hope you like the scrapbook 🙂

Disney Memories that last a lifetiime

Typhoon Lagoon at Disney World

Day 4 – Typhoon Lagoon and Disney Springs!

After 3 very busy days, we needed a rest day to relax and unwind before heading to the Magic Kingdom for day 5! The perfect way to do this was to head to a waterpark as it doesn’t involve so much walking around. We headed to Typhoon Lagoon for the day. The park doesn’t actually open until 10am meaning we could have a lie in which was fab. We arrived at the park when it opened and stayed until about 4pm.

What we got up to

My first stop at Typhoon Lagoon is always the lazy river, it’s pure bliss just floating around in the lovely Florida sunshine! After some time relaxing in the lazy river we headed to Miss Adventure Falls which is relatively new so I was excited to try it out! We then headed for the Crush N Gusher which is probably my favourite ride at Typhoon Lagoon. I spent a lot of time in the pool, I like to sit on the edge of it and just enjoy the sunshine 😀 We also went on the Storm Slides and then spend loads more time floating around the lazy river!

What we ate

We went to Leaning Palms for lunch which is where we’ve always eaten at Typhoon Lagoon. They serve your classic food such as burgers, sandwiches, wraps, chicken nuggets etc. I opted for chicken nuggets because nothing beats a Disney chicken nugget! 😀 We also purchased the refillable drinks to keep us going throughout the day.

Disney Springs

Planet Hollywood at Disney Springs

In the evening we headed to Disney Springs which I was super excited for. When I visited Disney in 2015 it was being renovated from what used to be Downtown Disney so I was really excited to see how different it was. I have to say they’ve done a damn good job! The place looks amazing and there’s so much to see and do. We had a mosey around the shops before heading to our dinner reservation at Planet Hollywood. I’ve been to Planet Hollywood before but it’s actually changed quite a lot and I was really impressed. The food was lovely and the lady serving us was fab!

Hope you enjoyed, see you shortly for day 5!

Ways to stay creative

I’ve always been creative, it’s a part of me that I’m really proud of and it brings me so much joy. As a child I remember I used to collect leaves and create collages. I’d also use my stain glass pens to decorate old jam jars. Did anyone else use to make pompoms as a child? I was forever doing that!

Being creative has always been a huge part of my life. During high school I opted to do Graphic Design as a GCSE, I then went on to college and did A-Level Graphics and Photography. I also did a 3rd year at college where I did an Art Foundation in Graphics before heading off to university to do a Graphic Arts Degree. I’m sure you get the picture, I LOVE being creative.

Over the years I found different ways to stay creative and find inspiration and I thought I would share this with you today.

My top 5 ways to stay creative

1 – Creative books – I find flicking through creative books a real inspiration. I still have a lot of books from when I did my Degree. Branding books, handmade type and craft books are some of my favourites to look through.

2 – Take a notepad everywhere with you – I’ve done this for years and years. I’ll suddenly be out and come up with a good idea for a blog post and it’s so much easier if you can jot it down on paper so you don’t forget. Also, I find sometimes when I’m out and about I’ll see something that gives me an idea and I’ll write it straight down.

3 – Look at creative websites – Let’s be honest I think we all love Pinterest … But there are other great websites out there as well for creativity. Some of my favourites are Behance and Dribble. I love looking through other peoples designs to give me inspiration. I used sites like this a lot when I was doing my degree and they’re so helpful.

4 – Adult colouring books – I LOVE adult colouring books, I find them really relaxing but they’re also great for keeping me doing creative things. They’re something that you can use in the evening for 20 minutes, it doesn’t have to be time-consuming as we’re all busy people!

5 – Surround yourself with creative people – I love the fact that my Twitter is constantly filled with creativity. I follow a lot of other bloggers and I find it really helpful having that creative network around me. It’s so helpful seeing what other creatives are up to and it’s a great way for inspiration.

What are your tips for staying creative?

get to know me post

It dawned on me recently that since I started my blog in May 2017 I’ve never really spoken about myself very much. I write a lot of lifestyle posts that cover my interests, and I also write a lot about Disney but that doesn’t really go into details about me personally. I thought it would be fun to do a ‘Get to know me’ post by answering 15 questions!

So yeah … This is me!

1. What is your middle name? My middle name is Rose. I actually really like my middle name which is surprising as I swear most people hate their middle names!

2. What is your favourite colour? I don’t really have a favourite colour, it changes all the time! Mint green and coral are probably my favourites though!

3. Tell us about your best friend – My best friend is called Emma, we’ve been best friends since high school. We’ve been through just about everything together – First boyfriends, breakups, family deaths .. You name it, we’ve been through it together! Emma is honestly the most wonderful person ever, she’s so caring and means the world to me. We’ve been lucky enough to travel to Majorca, New York, San Francisco and Florida together 🙂

4. How tall are you? I’m a short arse, I’m 5ft 2!

5. Cats or dogs? CATS, I BLOODY LOVE CATS!

6. Favourite holiday destination? FLORIDA! Disney World is my favourite place ever – You can see lots of my Disney content here. I’ve been to Disney World 8 times now and it honestly never gets boring 🙂

7. Do you have a degree? I have a degree in Graphic Arts. I’ve always been very creative so Graphics was an obvious choice for me. I graduated in 2014.

8. Favourite Restaurant? This is a tough one, I love Frankie and Benny’s and I also really love Bella Italia.

9. Favourite food? I’m really really fussy when it comes to food so I don’t eat anything adventurous. For me, you can’t beat a roast dinner. Roast beef, Yorkshire puddings and Roast potatoes with lots of gravy!

10. Are you single or taken? Taken. I’ve been with Shaun for 2 and a half years now and we’re about to buy our first house which is super exciting!

11. Tea or coffee? Tea, I hate coffee.

12. What are your favourite TV shows? I’ve watched a lot of TV series over the years but my favourites are: Pretty Little Liars, Prison Break, Luther, How to get away with murder and Bates Motel.

13. What is your favourite movie? This is really tough, but one of my favourite movies is definitely Apollo 13. I bloody love Tom Hanks.

14. What do you like to do in your spare time? I’m really creative and I like to make handmade cards. I’m also learning calligraphy … So yeah anything creative!

15. Who are some of your favourite YouTubers? I used to love watching people like Zoella and Tanya Burr but they just aren’t relatable anymore. I recently unsubscribed to so many of the ‘Big YouTubers’ to make way for more relatable content. My favourites are Sophie and Dave, Charlotte Ruff, Brogan Tate and Beingmommywithstyle.

I hope you enjoyed reading this, please feel free to use the questions and create your own ‘Get to know me’ post as I would love to read them!

The walkway into Universal Studios

I’m literally failing miserably at getting up all of my posts from My Disney World Trip that I took in July 2017! So far I’ve managed to post day 1 and day 2 so I have a long way to go haha. But I’m determined to get cracking with it and get it sorted! I usually post twice a week on Tuesdays and Fridays, but I may do some extra posts to get these Disney posts done!

Day 3 – Universal Studios

Technically not Disney, but I still want to include it in my Disney series haha! On day 3 we headed to Universal Studios. We like to try and split up the days so we get a real mix of Disney and non-Disney parks. We managed a slight lay in this morning – like a whole 30 minutes extra in bed which was lush! I’ve always loved Universal Studios and was feeling really excited about all the Harry Potter bits.

What we got up to

We arrived at the park for opening, it’s such a great way to blitz the popular rides before the big queues. First up we went to Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit – My family are all massive wimps so Shaun was on his own for this one. We then headed straight across to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter where we went on Escape from Gringotts. I can’t even explain how amazing this ride is, it’s like a cross between a simulator and a rollercoaster and it’s so much fun! Next up was Men in Black – My family get so competitive with rides like this and I’m pleased to confirm I did beat my brothers score 😀 We then headed to Race Through New York Starring Jimmy Fallon – Don’t get me wrong this was an incredible ride, it was a simulator but my god, it made me feel so sick so I had my eyes closed for most of it aha. But what I managed to see was very good. Next up was The Mummy – I actually forgot how fast this rollercoaster was, but it was great fun … Not sure my brother really appreciated it though!

The Mummy Ride at Universal Studios

We managed to blitz through all of this before lunch, this is why I really recommend getting to the park for when it opens as you get so much more done! We stopped at Louie’s Italian Restaurant for lunch which is where we always seem to go! They do really good pizza and pasta.

We took the afternoon slower. Starting off by having a wander around Diagon Alley, I picked up a really cool Harry Potter notebook and of course I had to get a chocolate frog! Then we headed to do the E.T. Ride followed by watching Terminator 2 which was honestly terrible haha.

We headed back to the hotel by about 5pm to get ready to go out for dinner in the evening.

Hope you enjoyed!
